Twice Shy is one of my favorite books this year and has cemented Sarah Hogle as an auto-read romance author. TWICE SHY BY SARAH HOGLEBOOK REVIEW. I’m impressed that the author managed to pull off a completely different kind of romance with TWICE SHY. I can only imagine how hard it must be to write a sophomore novel after a debut novel like YOU DESERVE EACH OTHER. Which had such an interesting, unique and extreme take on the enemies to lovers trope. With authentic social anxiety rep, a grumpy yet adorable hero and a headstrong heroine, Twice Shy is an unforgettable tour de force that puts a delightful spin on coffeeshop AUs, catfishing and the ‘oh no, there’s only one bed – eh, mansion’ trope. Twice Shy suffers from second book syndrome. Sarah Hogle’s debut novel You Deserve Each Other was so unique and refreshing, and her sophomore title sounded like it was going to be super cute. Well, it does have a lot of good bits and pieces, but that’s all they are.
